Country Music power duo Big and Rich performed their last show together July 18 in Eau Claire, Wisc.

The news came at the Country Jam USA in front of a crowd that booed the duo’s announcement. According to GAC.com, Big Kenny is taking time off to undergo physical therapy for chronic neck pain, the result of an accident caused by a drunk driver a few years ago.

"Kenny has no problem doin’ shows every now and then," said John Rich. "It’s just that constant, 100-shows-in-a-year thing that you can’t do."

Big and Rich arrived in Nashville as a force to be reckoned with when they released their debut single “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” and brought along their Muzik Mafia, with members James Otto, Gretchen Wilson and Cowboy Troy among the group.

"We didn't sound like anything else you have ever heard,” said Big Kenny reflecting on his experience. "'Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)' was like a Country AC/DC song. No one was doing anything like that."

Rich, who is godfather to Big Kenny’s son, Lincoln William Holiday, has been busy with his own projects. He is currently a judge on NBC’s Nashville Star and produced James Otto and Jewel’s recent CDs, Sunset Man and Perfectly Clear. Kenny is working on a musical production for children and is also producing artists on his own.
