Raul Malo Kicks Off Cross-Country Tour

Former frontman of The Mavericks, Raul Malo, has gone solo and is now working on a new album with Fantasy Records. The new music will be released in 2009.

Malo is scheduled to kick off his cross-country tour tonight in California. The artist will perform a mixture of both new and old songs during his tour, according to countrystandardtime.com.

Malo is also currently working with producer Steve Berlin on his upcoming album. Malo hasn’t released an album of all-original music since 2001 when he released Today.

Malo’s tour will end Aug. 23 in Lexington, Mich. Tour dates are as follows:
