Jonathan Singleton was honored Tuesday by the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers for his first number one songwriting hit, "Watching Airplanes." The song, co-written with Jim Beavers, was taken to the top spot by Country Music artist Gary Allan. Allan told the songwriters Tuesday, "I just wanna thank you guys for writin' it." Allan, who is performing select dates of Kenny Chesney's Poets and Pirates Tour, opened with "Watching Airplanes" last Saturday in Nashville, with Beavers in the audience. The single can be heard on Allan's currently release, Livin Hard.
