6/26/2008 Lisa Ann Schleipfer Country Music star Trace Adkins is once again the Honorary Chair for the annual Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward A Cure. The event is held across the country in 26 cities and is sponsored by the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN), the charity that Adkins' played for on the last season of The Celebrity Apprentice. FAAN sponsors the walk to increase awareness about food allergies and to raise money for education and research. It is estimated that one out of every 25 Americans suffers from a food allergy. Adkins and his wife Rhonda became involved with the organization after learning their daughter had a food allergy. "I'm honored to be serving once again as the National Honorary Chair for FAAN's Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward A Cure," said Adkins. "Millions of school-age children are afflicted with food allergies in this country, and the numbers are increasing each year. Much more research funds are needed to find out what is causing this problem and how we can fix it. With the help of thousands of walkers and volunteers nationwide, we can hopefully raise more money to help find a cure." See the list below for a walk near you. Register for the FAAN Walk for Food Allergy at www.foodallergywalk.org; a virtual walk will be held on the FAAN website.
