Huckaby’s father, NCAA basketball coach Rick Huckaby, succumbed to the disease in 2006.  "It's a personal thing for me,” said Huckaby, “but it affects us all.  That's why it's so important to do this.” Huckaby was born in Baton Rouge, La. and has toured with long-time Country Music stars Tanya Tucker and Exile, and has also harmonized with Tracy Lawrence.  His song "Ain't Enough Blacktop" won the 2008 World Billboard Song Contest, placing second overall.
