5/7/2008 Kasey Bell Country Music newcomer Kellie Pickler will be taking part in a rally with a grand cause. Kellie Pickler will be performing at the AARP Grand Rally today, May 7, on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., at 1:00 p.m. The event will benefit so-called Grandfamilies, which consist of grandparents raising their grandchildren. Kellie Pickler will be performing her hit song “My Angel,” dedicated to her grandmother, and will donate $50,000 to the charity. The young Country Music singer knows how important this is because she, too, was raised by her grandparents. “I am proud to take part in AARP’s GrandRally,” she said. “Having been raised by my grandparents, I know the struggles they face raising their grandchildren.”
