Steve Azar has spent a lot of time at home lately, and his new Country Music album reflects that homely mood.

His newest album, Indianola, is set to be released on Tuesday, May 27 at stores nationwide and through various internet music services. The album is the follow-up to Steve’s highly successful Waitin’ on Joe, which produced the #2 hit “I Don’t Have To Be Me (Til’ Monday).”

Also adding excitement is the fact that Steve has been very private about the album, doing all of the recording at his home studio in Mississippi. Steve wrote all of his songs and plays several instruments on the album.

”Having the studio and recording so much at home lets me do all of the jobs I need to do- be a musician, a husband and a dad,” Steve said.

Indianola will be a hybrid of Country and some of Steve’s native Delta blues. Some of his fans already know what it’s like. The album was sold to some fans as part of Steve’s tour with Bob Seger last year, and it received high praise from fans and critics. Still, it’s the down home feel that has Steve Azar most excited.

”Anytime I go back to Mississippi I just feel it- it’s my true heritage,” he said. “The longer I’m away, the more it leaks out of me.”
