3/14/2008 Staff The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) announced yesterday that Edmonton, Alberta will be the host city for the 2010 Country Music Week and the CCMA Awards.  Edmonton last hosted the events in 2004. "Edmonton has always been a most gracious host for Country Music Week and the CCMA Awards," said CCMA's Chair of the Board of Directors Heather Ostertag. "We thank the host committee for their outstanding bid, congratulate them on their success and we look forward to retuning in 2010". Mayor Stephen Mandel responded that "The City of Edmonton is honoured to host the 2010 Country Music Awards. It further solidifies Edmonton's reputation for hosting amazing events and we welcome all the key players in the country music industry to Edmonton. It will be a fantastic ending to Country Music Week here in Edmonton". Country Music Week 2010 in Edmonton will take place September 10-13 with the CCMA Awards to be held on September 13. Before heading to Edmonton, the CCMA will celebrate Country Music Week in Winnipeg in 2008 and Vancouver in 2009.
