2/26/2008 Meaghan Mitchell Country music star Clay Walker and his non-profit charity, Band Against MS, recently presented Dr. Michael Levin of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis a check for $25,000. This donation was presented to assist the center in researching the cause of MS, as well as hopefully finding a cure. "MS is a neurological disease that strikes people in the prime of life and affects approximately 2 million people worldwide," said Dr. Michael Levin. "This donation will allow us to 'jump start' some new ideas about what causes MS. In turn, by understanding more about it, we will come closer to inventing new therapies, and hopefully, discovering a cure. We are very grateful for the opportunity this gift affords us." Clay will also appear on a special episode of the Montel Williams Show on March 12th dedicated to the topic of multiple sclerosis. Clay and his charity donated an autographed Martin LXM Martin guitar to his long-time friend's foundation to be auctioned off during Montel's Gala and Celebrity Poker Challenge on March 13th in New York.
