1/14/2008 Stephen L. Betts Sarah Johns didn’t have time to think about the butterflies in her stomach that she thought she’d have before opening for the legendary George Strait in Austin last week. Ten minutes before she was to take the stage, she suffered a wardrobe malfunction: one of her boots blew out.  “We were on the bus in the parking lot about to go to the stage when the zipper on my knee-high boots busted open … from heel to knee!,” says Sarah. “I screamed and I’m not sure what string of words followed, but it’s safe to say they were not ‘G’ rated. Luckily I had a back-up pair of boots but they look like hell let out on recess. The good news is, if you have a boot problem, Texas is the state you want to be in.” After the show, which otherwise went on without a hitch, Sarah said, “What an amazing experience it was. It just went so fast! I’m looking forward to tonight so I can really take it all in. During George’s set he said, ‘I want to thank Sarah for doing such a great job,’ which made me cry. Believe it or not, the first person I ever saw in concert was George Strait.”
