1/11/2008 Stephen L. Betts   Country music star Trace Adkins is proving himself to be quite the competitor in the business world, as he survives the second round of tasks on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice. On last night's (1/10) episode, the celebrities were given a TV production crew, a cast of actors and several dogs to create an advertisement promoting Pedigree's Pet Adoption program. Trace’s contribution included writing the script and providing his deep speaking voice for the commercial created by the men's team. Hydra project manager Gene Simmons (KISS) said that when he heard Trace’s voiceover, “it sounded like the voice of God.”  Donald Trump agreed that using Trace’s booming voice was “genius,” and was one of the keys to the men dominating the competition once again and ultimately winning the challenge. Olympic Gold Medalist Nadia Comaneci became the second celebrity to feel the heat in Trump's boardroom and was fired from the women's team. For the third task, (airing Thursday, Jan. 17 at 9:00pm ET on NBC), the twelve remaining celebrities will be given an Airstream trailer and a graphic artist, with each team creating and operating a mobile printing station for Kodak. The competition gets fierce as Stephen Baldwin calls in a favor, asking brother Alec Baldwin to come out and support the cause. Disaster strikes one team in the 11th hour when they spill coffee on their computer, ruin their graphics, and must face the consequences. Kodak executives will decide the winning team and another celebrity will be fired.
