Taylor, Vince Snag Major Grammy Nominations

Betts   Taylor Swift and Vince Gill both received mentions in all-genre Grammy categories, and both artists were on hand to help reveal the list of nominees Thursday morning (12/6). Vince's four-CD project These Days is up for Album of the Year, along with albums by Foo Fighters, Herbie Hancock, Kanye West and Amy Winehouse. These Days is also up for a Best Country Album award. Taylor Swift received a Best New Artist nomination, along with Amy Winehouse, Feist, Ledisi, and Paramore. "Before He Cheats," written by Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins and recorded by Carrie Underwood, is up for the all-genre Song of the Year honor. The song is also nominated for Best Country Song. In addition, Carrie has nominations in the categories of Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals (for "Oh Love," her duet with Brad Paisley). Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley both received four nominations, while Brad Paisley is in the running for Best Country Album (5th Gear), and Best Country Instrumental performance. Other Grammy nominees in country categories include Brooks & Dunn, the Eagles, Steve Earle and Allison Moorer, Emerson Drive, Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss, Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, Willie Nelson & Ray Price, LeAnn Rimes, George Strait, Keith Urban and Trisha Yearwood. The 50th Annual Grammy Awards will be presented Feb. 10 in Los Angeles.
