Country troubadour Josh Turner will be traveling down the road for a second time with the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store exclusive music program when his new live album, Josh Turner—Live Across America, debuts on August 27, 2012.  The CD will be available exclusively at all Cracker Barrel locations and online on crackerbarrel.com, Amazon.com, and on iTunes for $11.99.  The album features live performances of Turner’s biggest hits including “Long Black Train,” “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” “Your Man,” as well as his never-before-released version of Waylon Jennings’ “America.”  The performances were recorded at 12 different live shows from Lancaster, Pa. to Austin, Tx during Turner’s 2012 tour, which continues through December and is sponsored exclusively by Cracker Barrel.  Turner previously collaborated with Cracker Barrel for his 2007 release, Josh Turner—Live at the Ryman.

“This is my second go-round with Cracker Barrel, who also sponsors my tour. We came up with the idea of taking a mobile studio out on the road and recording our show every night. And that’s what Live Across America is: the best renditions of songs from all over the country,” Turner says. “The fans will be able to hear recordings from their hometowns.”

“Josh’s music genuinely resonates with many of our guests, and we are thrilled to join forces with him on a second Cracker Barrel album,” said Julie Craig, Cracker Barrel Marketing Manager. “Because the songs were recorded during actual performances, there’s a feeling of being in the audience and getting caught up in the energy and excitement of a live show.”

In celebration of this release, Cracker Barrel is offering a sweepstakes with entries being accepted now through September 14, 2012 (5:00 p.m. CT).  One lucky fan and a guest will win an all-expense paid trip to Nashville, Tenn. to meet Turner and see him perform at the Grand Ole Opry.  A winner will be announced on or about September 30, 2012. See Official Rules for details at crackerbarrel.com/joshturner.
