The king of summer concerts, Kenny Chesney, is firing up his tour machine to warp speed this week for an incredible array of televised and streaming performances celebrating the release of his new album, Welcome To The Fishbowl.

Tonight, Chesney will celebrate the beginning of summer with a free, 75-minute concert for more than 20,000 fans on the famously scenic beach of Wildwood, N.J. The concert, to be directed for a live stream by Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme as part of the American Express "Unstaged" series, is expected to be the biggest outdoor concert ever in the resort town.

On Thursday, Chesney and his band will hit 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' to perform his current hit single "Come Over." He will also join The Roots for a special performance of his reggae-tinged "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven," which Chesney recorded with The Wailers for his 2008 album Lucky Old Sun. To cap off the whirlwind week, Chesney will bring his "spring-break party all summer long" vibe to NBC's Rockefeller Plaza on Friday for a live performance on TODAY's Toyota Summer Concert Series.

Chesney's next major television performance will be on Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, which airs July 4 on NBC. The event, also featuring Katy Perry, will include more than 40,000 fireworks lighting up the sky above NYC's Hudson River during a 25-minute "Ignite The Night"-themed display, and is the nation's largest Fourth of July fireworks display.

With ballads like "Sing 'Em Good My Friend" and "El Cerrito Place," Welcome To The Fishbowl shows that "as good as [Chesney] is at bringing the party, he might be even better at going deep" said the Star-Ledger.

The introspective ''Makes Me Wonder,'' for example, "is built on the equanimity that’s been a strong part of Chesney’s appeal as a writer," said the LA Times. While "Feel Like a Rock Star," Chesney's hit duet with Tim McGraw, is an ebullient exception on a record that Chesney says will "make you think...[and] examine your life."
