America’s Opry Weekend Thanksgiving Special will be hosted this year by Grand Ole Opry and Country Music Hall of Fame member Vince Gill. The radio program is slated to air Nov. 23 through Nov. 27 to celebrate Thanksgiving and the beginning of a music-filled holiday season. The special will also include cuts from Gill’s new release, Guitar Slinger, and several of his all-time holiday favorites, including some he will perform with his wife Amy Grant on the couple’s 2011 “Twelve Days of Christmas” tour.
Among the many artists and songs that will be featured in the Thanksgiving special are Gill’s “Blue Christmas,” Dierks Bentley’s “Home,” Martina McBride’s “I’m Gonna Love You Through It,” Blake Shelton’s “God Gave Me You,” Trade Adkins’ “Million Dollar View,” Carrie Underwood’s “Temporary Home,” and Brad Paisley’s “Winter Wonderland.”
In anticipation of the radio special, opry.com added a Guitar Slinger section to the site that features an exclusive interview with Gill about the album and a Guitar Town Sweepstakes offering autographed guitars by the award-winner and a three-day Nashville getaway.
