"The 45th Annual CMA Awards" show has come and gone, but country music's biggest night will not be forgotten anytime soon, especially for Kimberly Perry, lead singer of The Band Perry, who took home three awards Wednesday night. The Band Perry is composed of Kimberly and her two brothers, Reid and Neil. The group won both New Artist and Single of the Year. Kimberly, who wrote their winning song, "If I Die Young," also took home Song of the Year.
"I believe this song would've been written with or without me," said Kimberly while accepting her award. "It was a song meant to be here. I'm just excited to have had a pen and paper in hand when this song came to earth."
The biggest honor of the night, Entertainer of the Year, went to Taylor Swift, who thanked her many fans as well as the multiple stars who joined her on her Speak Now world tour. And though Taylor took home the award, several of the other Entertainer of the Year nominees did not go home empty handed.
Jason Aldean, along with Kelly Clarkson, won Music Event of the Year for their duet, "Don't You Wanna Stay." He also left with the Album of the Year award for My Kinda Party.
Entertainer of the Year nominee, Blake Shelton, and his new wife, Miranda Lambert, have a lot to celebrate this year. Together, the country couple won the Male Vocalist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year awards, both for the second year in a row.
