The McClymonts, Australian sisters Brooke, Samantha and Mollie, received the 2011 CMA Global Country Artist Award. The sisters were presented with the honor during the annual CMA International Reception held Nov. 7, as part of “The 45th Annual CMA Awards” festivities. CMA Chief Executive Officer Steve Moore presented the Award.
"Wow, after five months of living here in Nashville, to have picked up the CMA Global Country Artist Award is an absolute honor," said Brooke McClymont, speaking for herself and her sisters.
The girls received much praise in Australia. They won Best Group honors at the Country Music Awards of Australia in four of the past five years. They also earned Best Country Album honors from the Australian Recoding Industry Association in 2008 and 2010. The McClymonts expanded their audience by opening for Jason Aldean on his Fall 2010 tour and in 2011 they released their second album, Wrapped Up Good, in the U.S. On Nov. 23, they will perform at Tootsie’s 51st Birthday Bash at the legendary Nashville venue.
