Trailer Choir released a new single despite all the roadblocks they have come across in the past year. While group member Big Vinny works through week seven on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser,” Trailer Choir released “Love Me First” with Hollaville Records as their first single as a duo. The song is now available on iTunes and other digital music outlets. Group member Butter said the song reflects all he and Vinny have been through within the past year.

“We lost our record deal, went from a trio to a duo and had to face the fact that Vinny’s health might prevent him from ever entertaining again,” Butter explained. “It was a scary time. Vinny was down, and not just emotionally. He was flat in a hospital bed for almost two weeks.”

Vinny was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and knew he had to make a serious lifestyle change. “I always thought I was comfortable with my weight, I was just the big guy in the overalls,” he said. “But after I got sick, I started to really look at myself from the inside out and I realized that maybe I wasn’t as happy or healthy as I could or should be.”

Vinny then auditioned for “The Biggest Loser” and was selected as a contestant. Within the six weeks of his time on the show, he has 59 pounds. He has gone from weighing 426 to 367 pounds and is moving on to week seven. The show airs Tuesdays at 8/7 central on NBC.

“Love Me First” was inspired by Vinny’s health scare, but Butter also said, “the lyrics to the song also reflect a common theme we all face—the daily struggle to find and fight for love and happiness, and the realization that we meet that only when we love ourselves first.”
