Toby Keith Celebrates His Ascending Hit, "Made In America"

Country superstar, Toby Keith, celebrates one of his fastest-rising releases of his career. His latest single, “Made In America,” is his 29th No. 1 single and has topped the Country Aircheck/Mediabase, Billboard/BDS and Music Row charts.

With Keith’s record of America-themed music, he has not been particularly inclined toward the theme material lately, so his latest hit is a bit unexpected. "I've done so much patriotic stuff that I have people sending me and bringing me those kinds of ideas daily," he says. "And when I hear most of this stuff it's like, I've already done that. I've already done my warrior song – 'American Soldier.' I've already done my battle cry – 'Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue.' I've already done my fun uptempo – 'American Ride.'"

But luckily for fans, Keith’s co-writer Bobby Pinson offered up an idea that struck something within Toby. The two spoke of “back in the day” when your dad would get a little dirty to fix a broken-down car with his own hands. "We jumped on that, started writing. I just couldn't get past thinking that my old man was that old man,” says Keith.

“Made In America” is off Keith’s latest album, Clancy’s Tavern. It will be released globally on Oct. 24. A Deluxe Edition with four covers recorded live at Toby's 2010 Incognito Bandito club show at The Fillmore in New York City will also be available.
