Dierks Bentley Pays Tribute to Pink Floyd on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Dierks-2011

Multi-platinum singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley is joining the week-long tribute to Pink Floyd with Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The week celebrates the release of Pink Floyd’s two new box sets of remastered and previous unreleased material. Dierks will perform a cover of the band’s, “Wish You Were Here,” on the Sept. 29 show. Other bands to join the tribute include Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, The Shins and MGMT.

Dierks is not just celebrating for Pink Floyd; he has his own release! His sixth Capitol Nashville album single “Home” was recently released to country radio. He penned the new track with Dan Wilson and Brett Beavers.

"One of the best parts of being a traveling musician is getting to meet people from all over the country and hear about what's happening in their lives and their towns…the struggles and the joys," says Dierks. "They're the inspiration for this song. The lyrics speak to the challenges we've had as a country, but hopefully the song leaves you feeling inspired and optimistic."

The album is scheduled for release in early 2012 and has already scored a No. 1 hit with “Am I The Only One.” The album follows his critically acclaimed Up On the Ridge, which earned Album of the Year nominations at the ACM, CMA and GRAMMY Awards this year. He has five previous albums that have sold more than five million copies, earned 10 GRAMMY nominations and led to eight No. 1 hits.

Bentley’s “Country & Cold Cans Tour” kicks off on Oct. 6 in Lacrosse, Wis. with special guests Eli Young Band and Jerrod Niemann. The tour will run through November 22 with dates across the country.
