Dixie Chicks Join The Texas Fire Relief Concert

Dixie Chicks 2011

The Concert for Central Texas in support of Fire Relief will take place Oct. 17 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. The Dixie Chicks will join the line up alongside Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett and Asleep at the Wheel to perform at the event. A few guest appearances include Shawn Colvin, Steve Miller, the Texas Tornados, Eric Johnson and Joe Satriani.

Tickets are on sale now for $25, $35, $100 and $250 VIP. All proceeds will go to the Central Texas Wildfire Fund at the Austin Community Foundation in efforts to assist victims of the late-summer central Texas wildfires. The fires in Bastrop County, about 25 miles east of Austin, hit more than 34,000 acres, destroyed nearly 1,600 homes and caused an estimated $250 million in damage.

The VIP tickets include premium seating and access to the VIP Lounge in the Lone Star Room. A silent auction will be held with specialty items autographed by the artists and T-shirts with the concert’s logo for sale.
