9/21/2007 Stephen L. Betts Shooter Jennings is set to make his Grand Ole Opry debut on Tuesday (9/25). “One of the songs off my new album talks about the criticism I've always faced that my music is ‘not country enough, too rock 'n roll,’ so the invitation to play the Opry is a really significant milestone in my career,” says Shooter.  “I grew up in Nashville most of my life, but playing the Opry stage is really the true sign of acceptance there.” Shooter will release his fourth album, The Wolf, on Oct. 23. Working once gain with producer Dave Cobb, the two allowed themselves to live out their “musical fantasies,” which includes guest background vocals courtesy of some of the Grand Ole Opry backup singers.   Shooter says The Wolf is an album about “independence and learning to accept yourself for who you are.” In addition to his Opry debut this week, Shooter will make stops in Columbia, Mo., Lawrence, Kan., and Springfield, Mo.
