Jesse Keith Whitley, son of Lorrie Morgan and Keith Whitley, is in the midst of a radio tour in hopes that his new song, "Kentucky Thunder" will take the country by storm.

Whitley's 6-song EP was produced by James Stroud and includes a song, "Where Would I Be," that was co-written by Jon Randall, who also wrote "Whiskey Lullaby." The project includes Keith's remake of his late father's song, "Don't Close Your Eyes."

"There is a quality in Jesse's voice that is so recognizable, so undeniable," said his mother, Lorrie Morgan. "I'm happy that he's carving out his own path. He tips his hat to tradition, but he's developing his own distinct style."

On Saturday, July 23, Whitley will perform with his mom at Country Thunder, the annual music festival in Wisconsin. During the rest of his tour, Keith will visit Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri and Iowa.

Whitley's single, "Kentucky Thunder," is available now on iTunes.
