The benefit concert that Josh Turner held earlier this week in honor of Ringgold, Georgia victims of this spring’s storms was a huge success. Over $150,000 was raised in just one night to help Ringgold High School and Ringgold Middle School get back on their feet. Both schools suffered extensive damage from the storms, and though insurance will cover the cost of repairs, there was no funding to replace lost or damaged band and athletic equipment. This is where Josh stepped in—all proceeds from “After The Storm: Coming Together Benefit Concert With Josh Turner” will be split evenly between the Ringgold Band and the Ringgold Athletic Fund.

On April 27th, an EF-4 tornado destroyed nearly half of the town’s businesses as well as many homes and places of worship in the community. However, the biggest losses are those that can’t be replaced—the nine people, including two Ringgold High students, who lost their lives in the devastating storms. Josh dedicated his song, “The Answer,” to them.

“Anytime you can come together as a community to help lift each other up, it’s a good day. But when you can accomplish something of this magnitude as a team in these uncertain times it really shows the true meaning of family,” said Gator Harrison, Operations Manager/Program Director at WUSY US-101.
