Jason Aldean's Dirt Road Anthem Hits Number 1

Jason-Aldean-with-fans-2011
Jason Aldean is no stranger to success. His fourth studio album, My Kinda Party, is so far the bestselling country album of 2011 and just this week his latest single, “Dirt Road Anthem” hit No. 1, making it his third consecutive (and seventh overall) top single. As if that wasn’t enough, his power ballad duet with American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, “Don’t You Wanna Stay” is also climbing the charts, including the American top 40.

However, “Dirt Road Anthem” is still on top for now, earning the highest spot on the Country Digital Singles chart with over 1.3 million singles sold to date. "We definitely knew when we recorded this song, we'd turn some heads. Thankfully, when they turned, they also started nodding along," laughs Aldean. "It's been a great song to play live and also to be able to do some experimenting with for TV performances and things like that. I love being able to put out a big ballad like our duet with Kelly and come back with something a little different the next time.   I don't want anyone to ever think they've got me figured out exactly!"

Though Jason is mostly kept busy with his ongoing tour, he took some time out last week to show support for another love of his: baseball. He was in Phoenix for Major League Baseball’s All Star Week, where he participated in both the Celebrities and Legends softball game and the 2011 Homerun Derby. He is also featured in this month’s ESPN magazine’s “Fans Like Us” series with fellow celebs Justin Timberlake and John Legend.

But even a break for baseball can’t last for long. Jason is back on the road for his tour this week, along with openers Chris Young and Thompson Square. For more information and a full list of tour dates, visit www.jasonaldean.com.
