Big and Rich Ready to Hit the Road Again

After three years away from touring, Kenny Alphin and John Rich of the country duo Big and Rich are ready to be on the road and playing for their fans, starting with the Show Me Music and Arts Festival in Springfield, Missouri. Their ‘Xtreme Muzik’ tour, also featuring Gretchen Wilson, Cowboy Troy, and Two Foot Fred, brings to close a busy three years for the pair.

During the break, each kept busy with solo careers, family, and charity work. Kenny Alphin released a solo album, worked with charities in Sudan, and was a voice against strip-mining in the United States. John Rich released three solo albums and recently won ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’ earning $1.4 million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. John says of his ‘Apprentice’ win that, “I went on there for St. Jude; I wanted to make a statement for those kids. The other thing I think was pretty awesome was seeing Donald Trump in a cowboy hat. I see that as a sign of respect to country music and a sign that country music is growing bigger and bigger.”

Yet after all these accomplishments, the two can’t wait to be touring again. Big Kenny notes that, “We all worked really hard for a long time… we accomplished great things. Now we've all had opportunities to have families, bring up children, and do some things that were important to each of us. During that time this energy built up to where we are going, 'Wow, we want to get out there together.’” He continues, saying, “There is no way you can replace being out there with your friends; it’s a beautiful thing to be in this place at our lives.”
