taylor-swift-2010
The 2011 CMT Music Awards had a few surprising appearances this year, including Justin Bieber and Ludacris . The ceremony itself was hosted by Kid Rock, making it his second time hosting the awards.

The night began with a prerecorded skit featuring Taylor Swift and Shania Twain as the criminal duo, "Thelma and Louise." Later, Toby Keith debuted his new song, "Made in America."

The top prize, Video of the Year, was awarded to Taylor Swift for her song "Mine." According to theboot.com, Swift was unable to attend the ceremony because she is currently on tour. She accepted the award via live satellite feed.

"I just want to say thank you and hey to everyone there," said Swift. "I wish I could be there, but I'm hanging with 15,000 of my closest friends in Milwaukee… I want to thank the fans who voted. I don't know what I did to deserve you guys, but you have done so many amazing things in my life."

The award for Male Video of the Year was awarded to Blake Shelton for his song, "Who You Are When I'm Not Looking." Shelton was also awarded Best Web Video of the Year, which is a new category in 2011, for his song, "Kiss My Country Ass." The award for Best Female Video of the Year was presented to Shelton's new wife, Miranda Lambert, for her song, "The House That Built Me."

Trey Fanjey, who directed both the videos that won male and female video of the year, was awarded Video Director of the Year.
